Mommy & Me - by Debbie

Hi everyone!  I'm back with my second post as a designer for Purple Pumpkin and have a layout to share with you that I completed for a challenge at The Studio Challenge Blog.

I'm still waiting for delivery of my Purple Pumpkin DT goodies.  It takes time to travel from Australia to the US, but in the meantime I have my Purple Pumpkin stash to use.

The fabric buttons, white doily and satin flower are all Purple Pumpkin!

I did a little masking on my layout using a rose stencil and modeling paste.  This technique is new to me and I will definitely continue to use it on more of my layouts.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi from Sarah G :)

I wanted to share this page with you today. My little girl turned 8 this weekend and amongst the heap of photos that I took of her special day were these three shots that my husband took of Sophie having a birthday cuddle with me (I especially love the one where she is kissing me - so cute!)
I masked and sprayed my background and added the inked flowers by punching flower shapes out of a sheet of plain paper then using the negative shape as a stencil and simply rubbing my ink pad over the top. My papers are from MME and October Afternoon.
Now for the Purple Pumpkin goodness. Check out the green doily that forms the base for my big flower element and ofcourse those gorgeous butterfly buttons that really do add the perfect finishing touch to my page.

Check out the PP shop because there are a lot of gorgeous goodies to be had - including the  biggest variety of buttons, washi tapes and bakers twine!
Have a great week wherever you are - I hope you find time for a little crafting in your day :)

Helen here - Lovely to Meet You {and Look what I made!}

Hi there everyone!  Helen here.  I am so pleased to be
designing for Purple Pumpkin now & thought you may
be interested in finding out a little more about me.

Hi there,  my name is Helen Tilbury and I live in Durban,
South Africa, with my hubby, 4 kids and 3 kitties & I’ve
been papercrafting for 9 years now.  I consider myself a
scrapbooker first and foremost although I do dabble in
cards, tags, mini-albums and canvases from time to time!

I have a teeny studio {we converted our entrance hall}
& you can find me in it a LOT of the time, surrounded by
floor to ceiling stash! {my heaven on earth!!}

I’ve been blogging at http://helentilbury.blogspot.com
for over 4 years now & worked at many different challenge
sites, sketch blogs & kit clubs.

Currently I’m designing for Les Papiers de Pandore
in France, Berry71Bleu on Etsy, Creative Scrappers
& My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club as a Mixed Media
Educator & of course here at Purple Pumpkin too!

My style is detailed, clustered and layered up without
being overly busy – Modern Shabby is the term I’ve
coined for it and I see that others are using that
terminology now too which is really cool!

I love strong, saturated colour and pale backgrounds
& enjoy techniques such as misting, masking, painting
& stamping to add depth and detail to my pages. I don’t
like flat, clean and simple pages – for me the whole process
needs to  be tactile and fun to be therapeutic and satisfying.

***************

Well I think that's enough reading for one day don't you?!
Now for another Purple Pumpkin layout!

On this layout, which you can read more about on my
blog HERE - I've used Purple Pumpkin fabric & wooden buttons.

You can find these patterned buttons in sets from the
Purple Pumpkin shop HERE.

The heart buttons you see here are also from Purple
Pumpkin & they are printed, but I turned mine over
& inked them up instead.  You can view all the wooden
buttons in stock HERE.

If you love layers, like I do, then Purple Pumpkin buttons
are for you!  They are perfect for tucking under flowers
& creating interesting clusters when mixed with other
embellishments too.  Have a great Sunday!

Let's play by Judith

Welcome to the weekend.

If you're anything like me you'll be hoping to get some scrapping in this weekend. If you haven't done so already why don't you give the Purple Pumpkin October sketch challenge a whirl. There's a $25 voucher to spend on goodies for the winner chosen by the design team and a random draw winner of a $15 voucher. Entries need to be in by the end of October.

Here is my take on the sketch (you can find the original in the side bar) :

I decided to stay pretty close to the original but just tilted the papers a bit. Instead of using paper for the two horizontal strips I used a piece of yellow spotty ribbon and a line of red tickets.

Here are a couple of close ups of my clusters.

In this one I used a PP red bookpaper round, a small PP green truck button, half a blue vinyl cog which I tucked under the button and a made a couple of flags out of yellow starry and red heart washi tape.

My other cluster includes a PP yellow spotty denim lollipop flower, a red crocheted doily and a tiny green spotty button with another bit of blue vinyl cog tucked under the button.

Well that's it from me for today. Hoping you will join us in this month's sketch challenge.
Have a great weekend and happy scrapping!!

"Happy Halloween" - by Debbie

Hi Everyone!
I'm so excited to be sharing my first layout with you as a new member of the Purple Pumpkin Design Team!  I decided to work with this month's sketch, which I rotated.

I splattered a little paint on my layout, did a little stamping and
added some texture with machine stitching.

I dug into my Purple Pumpkin stash, as I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my DT goodies!

Here I used a vampire button from my stash:

and here I used a black spotty button which I added some colored flat black pearls and a Purple Pumpkin green doily.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to join in on our sketch challenge!

On Display by Judith

Good morning everyone. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today I want to share with you a layout I’ve just finished working on for the 123 challenge.

My daughter recently took part in the cake decorating competition at school for the Royal Melbourne Show. This is a photo of her next to her cake of Daisy Duck at the Show.

I took inspiration from the colours of her cake which were pink and yellow.  I found lots of Purple Pumpkin products to match.

Here is a close up of the cluster.

I have used a yellow spotty button top, a cup cake button, a fuchsia ticket and some pink and yellow twine.  I have also used a pink spotty button, some more twine and some yellow star washi.

Enjoy your week!

"Together" by Vicky

Today I am sharing the latest project I made.

I went mixed media crazy and I really enjoyed it!!!
This photo was taken at the birthday party of Nefeli's best friend!

Buttonsflower, vinyl heart, washi tape!!!!! (In LOVE)

The fabric Buttons, denim flower, vinyl heart, washi tape, are all Purple Pumpkin!!!!!!!!!!!

Techniques:

Title & feather: I painted them black with acrylic paint, I randomly applied some turquoise with a brush and finally heat embossed them with clear UTEE.
Buttons: Two of them were randomly painted with acrylic paints (yellow, turquoise) and I painted the edges black to give them definition. The button in the cluster, I "dressed" it with patterned paper!
Small frame: I painted it orange and rubbed some white with my finger. Then I painted the edges black to give it definition.
Girl silhouette: I used the base as a mask, I draw the outline and then I dabbed some distress ink (broken China) with the applicator.
Button base: I painted it black, I embossed it using a cuttlebug folder and then I heat embossed it with clear UTEE.

REMINDER: Post your pages on our FACEBOOK wall whenever you use our products and we will choose a "monthly favorite" to feature on our blog and facebook wall! That's an extra chance to win some goodies!!

Thanks for visiting!!!
Enjoy your weekend!!!

October 2012 Guest Designer-Tarrah McLean

Hi everyone!!!
My name is Tarrah McLean, I live on the NSW Central Coast with hubby and two gorgeous sons.
I have been scrapbooking for 7 years and still can't get enough!!
You can find more of my work here on my blog, would love for you to pop by and say hello!!!
I was so honoured to be asked to be guest designer for Purple Pumpkin for October! Thank you so much Sam for asking me and for all  those gorgeous PP goodies that you sent me!!!
So first I thought I would share some layouts that I created with what Sam sent me specifically for the GDT spot!

This is my favourite layout that I created!!

On this layout I have used Purple Pumpkin washi tape, Jade green tickets and fabric flower and the brown button above the fabric flower.

My next layout is of my sisters recent wedding....here I have used the Purple Pumpkin black and white washi tape and the heart washi tape, red lace doily cut in half, heart flair button and the small white wooden button.

This layout is of my sister and I a few years ago...here I have used the Purple Pumpkin gorgeous
vintage girl button, the white and black washi tape, the brown and cream fabric button, the fawn coloured twine and lace doily and the white tickets.

I adore that vintage girl button!!!

So that is what I created using the goodies Sam sent me and now I will show you 3 of my 'just because' favourite layouts all featuring Purple Pumpkin goodies!!

Phew!!! Sorry for the extra long post but I just wanted to show you just how versatile the yummy Purple Pumpkin goodies are...I have created so many different themed layouts to show you some ideas so why don't you go ahead and create some projects using PP goodies?
Thanks so much again Sam for having me as guest for October, I am sure I will be seeing you all around cyberland soon.
Thanks for joining me on the PP blog today, I hope I have inspired you to get creating!!!
Take care and happy creating!!!
Tarrah :)
